Pump Out Operation Program

Pump Out, Don't Dump Out!

The City of Crystal River provides pump-out boat services in city waters to keep Kings Bay clean. Vessel is operational between the approximate hours of 8am - 4pm year-round on Wednesdays (weather permitting).

  • The fee for service is $5 per hookup.
  • To schedule services, please call or text 352-586-0588 and the captain will contact you within 2-3 days to schedule an appointment.

Important Notice Regarding Weather Related Schedule Changes:

Please be advised that the days and hours of operation are subject to change depending on weather conditions and other factors. The boat is not equipped to operate in rough water or inclement weather conditions. Operation of the pump boat is at the discretion of the captain or city management. We will attempt to contact those with scheduled service regarding any changes or cancelations. The city may add or change scheduled service days as deemed necessary.

Boat owner's presence is not required at the time of service, but the Pump Boat Captain is not permitted to board the owner's vessel or dock. Captain must have unobstructed access to the waste outlet. If needed, the boat owner or designee may assist the captain by connecting the hose to the waste outlet, or by moving the vessel to an accessible location for service. Absence of these requirements will prevent our captain from completing service and they will attempt to inform the owner.

The City's Pump Out Program is funded in part through a federal grant administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in accordance with the Clean Vessel Act. For more information about the program visit https://floridadep.gov/rcp/cva
